What this is and what this is not.

What this is and what this is not

Beyond the Roles is a social impact initiative and peer community. Our community spaces are built to promote connection, conversation, learning, and mutual support.

Beyond the Roles is not a medical, mental health, legal, or financial service and does not offer professional advice.

Nothing on this website, including articles, worksheets, recordings, community discussions, or other resources, should be used as a substitute for professional care or advice from a qualified professional.

If you are unwell, in a mental health crisis, or concerned for your safety or someone else's immediate safety, please contact a suitable health professional or emergency service. We would rather you seek proper help than wait for support from our community.

Getting involved in the community

Joining is free, and you can leave the community whenever you want.

Our community spaces are built on respect, honesty, empathy, and mutual support. Upon entering, we request you to observe the following rules:

  • It must be kept confidential. What someone shares in a community space is not to be repeated, published, or shared outside of that space without their permission.
  • No unsolicited advice. Share your experience and perspective, not what you think another woman should do.
  • No judging. Women may have different options and experiences than yours. Respect and dignity for each other.
  • No screen shots. No recordings. Do not record, take photographs, or screenshot or otherwise reproduce community sessions or conversations without the agreement of all parties involved.
  • No discrimination or harassment. No personal attacks, bullying, intimidation, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior is permitted.
  • No selling or solicitation allowed. Do not use the community to sell products, recruit customers, solicit donations, or promote services without permission from Beyond the Roles.
  • Honor the space's purpose. Discussions should add value to the community's well-being, learning, connection, and growth.

Confidentiality and security

We ask that members respect the confidentiality of what is shared in the community. But no one can guarantee absolute confidentiality.

If we have a reasonable belief that disclosure is necessary to address an immediate or serious risk to someone's safety, abuse, exploitation, or a safeguarding concern, we may be required to take appropriate action or seek professional support, particularly in the case of a child.

Where possible and appropriate, we will attempt to contact the person involved in advance.

Outcast from the society

Where a member's behavior seriously or repeatedly breaches these guidelines, in particular where it puts at risk the privacy, dignity, or safety of another person, we may suspend or remove that member.

If suitable, the person will be spoken to first. But we can act immediately if someone's safety or privacy is at risk.
