Her Space

A Community for Women Who Want Somewhere to Breathe, Connect and Become.

Sometimes, what we need most is not someone to fix us, but someone who understands.

What this is

Somewhere to be honest

Her Space is the community arm of Beyond the Roles Initiative — a supportive online community where women can connect, have honest conversations, learn, reflect and grow.

We are currently meeting online via Microsoft Teams as we build our founding community. As the community grows, we plan to introduce physical gatherings and other in-person experiences.

For now, Her Space is: online community sessions, guided conversations, learning sessions, peer connection, guest speakers, reflection and growth, and resource sharing.

There is no cost, no application, and no expectation that you arrive with anything to say.

Join Her Space

One form, and then a real person replies. We will never pass your details to anyone.

However much or little you want to say. Nobody but us reads this.

How we do this

Our community guidelines

Six things we ask of everyone, including us. They are the reason the circles work.

  • 01

    Honesty

Say the true thing, at whatever size you can manage today. A partial truth offered honestly is worth more than a tidy answer.

  • 02

    Confidentiality

What is said here stays here. Not the gist, not an anonymised version over lunch. It stays here.

  • 03

    No judgment

Women arrive from very different lives and make very different choices. You do not have to agree to be kind.

  • 04

    No unsolicited advice

Ask before you fix. Most of the time what is wanted is to be heard, and advice offered early ends the conversation.

  • 05

    Respect for difference

Faith, marriage, money, work, children. There is no house position on any of it and nobody needs converting.

  • 06

    Care for one another

Notice when someone goes quiet. Check on her. This is the part that turns a group into a community.

You don't have to carry it alone.

Come as you are. There is room for you here.
